I cani – The dogs

Questo è il mio cane – This is my dog

Hai un cane? – Do you have a dog? (you – singular pronoun)

Avete dei cani? – Do you have any dogs?  (you – plural pronoun)

Il cane abbaia al postino – The dog barks at the postman.

Il cane è il migliore amico dell’uomo – The dog is man’s best friend.

I cani hanno fame – The dogs are hungry.

Il cane di Maria scondinzola – Maria’s dog is wagging its tail.

Non mi piacciono i cani – I don’t like dogs.

Amo i cani – I love dogs.

Can(e) che abbaia non morde – A dog that barks doesn’t bite (figurative – one’s bark is worse than one’s bite).
